Dyngus Day

Dyngus Day, known as Smigus Dyngus in Poland or wet Monday is a celebration held on Polish Easter Monday in Poland. For a whole day, it is observed by the Polish Americans communities who call it Dyngus Day.

Dyngus Day is observed most notably in Buffalo, New York, which hosts the longest running Polish-American celebration since the 1960s, which include a Dyngus Day pussy willows and an official dyngus day parade. Dyngus Day in Cleveland is celebrated with a parade, polka, and the crowning of Miss Dyngus.
