Red Hawaiian Sea Salt – Alaea Clay Gourmet Salt

Red Hawaiian Sea Salt, also known as Alaea Salt, is hand-harvested in Hawaii using centuries-old methods. Traditionally used in Hawaiian ceremonies and healing rituals, today it is prized for its vibrant red color, rich mineral content, and unique flavor.

During harvest, a small amount of purified red volcanic clay (Alaea) is added, infusing the salt with iron oxide and creating its signature deep red hue. Authentic and mineral-rich, this salt adds both beauty and flavor to any dish.

Traditionally used in Kalua pig, poke, and Hawaiian jerky, Red Hawaiian Salt also works wonderfully on grilled meats, vegetables, dark fish, and chicken. It’s excellent in marinades too—the iron content helps tenderize meat while enhancing taste.
